I have found an widened articles coming from the first cocnert in my country Holland. My country was at that time - one of the most important countries that supported the (cultural) boycott to South Africa regarding its 'Apartheids-regime' and - of course I was one of them.
This very widened review with many artists who were involved by making Paul Simon`s album "Graceland" are speaking about the situation at that time. Many of these artistst already lived 'in exile'banned out of South Africa by the white regime.
Miriakm Makiba also called "the Mother of South-Africa" had already a hit during the second half of the sixties by singing "Pata Pata"in Holland
In this widened article also a lot of musicans could not return to their homeland also living 'in exile':mainly in the USA.
