NEWS - Paul Simon Unsure About The Case For War With Iraq

(2/26/03, 1 p.m. ET) -- Like many politically conscious musicians, Paul Simon is anxiously watching the world stage these days and worrying about a seemingly impending war with Iraq. He says that he's watching the situation carefully but worries that people in the U.S. are not getting all the information they should about the situation.
Simon explains, "Apprehension and, you know, a sense of...helpless in a way, you know? You don't really know the information, [and it's] hard to make really astute assessments of, you know, philosophical assessments about what's going on because the information that you get is filtered and monitored. You're like a passenger on a, on a train that's not exactly sure of its destination."
Simon--who picked up a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award on Sunday (February 23) for his partnership with Art Garfunkel--is working on a new album, his first since You're The One in 2000. His song "Father And Daughter" from The Wild Thornberrys Movie is nominated for an Academy Award for best original song.
