Thank you very much for paying your kind attention to one of the last cocerts Simon and Garfunkel dgave in Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam Holland before they finished their teaming half way July 1970 in their neigborhood QUeens NYC 1970.

Living in Amsterdam e fwe streets away from "het Concertgebouw" of course I bought a ticket for attending this concert. "Can you imagine this years from today'me being 17 years at that time in the middle of the night going on my bike to visit Simon and Garfunkel?

The only thing I remembered was: the concert started at midnight and eded up at about 2.30 AM in the morning. I do not remember much about it `due to a terrible headache you won`t know! I had a sit on the balcony right in front of Simon and Garfunkel. They brought their own piano and their pianist Larry Knechtel on the stage for only performing Art Garfunkel "Bridge over Troubled Water'. Paul Simon felt surprised by the beauty of the inside of this concerthall and its worldfamous accoustic sound. Can you inmagine: two guys with ONE guitar?

This short Simon and Garfunkel European Tour in 1970 has lost the tapes from their concert they gave in London UK. Recordings of this concert are still hard to be found. These concerts were held in Paris France and Copenhagen Denmark. From both concerts are bootlegs available for downloading or buying.

I was never aware of the fact that an unabbridged tape of 'my'Simon and Garfunkel Concert in Amsterdam 1970 is still available to listen to.

I like to give you something back for paying so much attention about this 'Holland topic'. I try to post this broadcast tape and wish you all a very good time by listening to it: you will be surprised!

Many thanks for uploading the stuff I sent to you. Did you already listen to the entire tape and the encore Art Garfunkel was obliged to give? You really do not know how much noise it was after Art finished his encore, The roof of 'Het Concertgebouw" was almost blown away by all clappings and stampings on the floor. Guess this encore is not to be found on all bootlegs cd`s releases of this concert! LOL!

Looking forward for seeing what you will have in your mind for posting. I just finished my volontary unpaid political job! Kind regards and enjoy all the music Corry from Holland!

Note: this song was also included in the tape I sent to you. Do not have any idea from what source this S&G song is coming from. Date 1968 might be from 'The Bookends'-album release (I bought this album in 'mono'of course in Amsterdam too. More actual than ever nowadays! Also THE song with wich Paul Simon started his Homewardbound FarewellTour:

Many thanks for your kind reaction to my postings. Due to lack of time I will write you later this week. I am aware of the 'timelapse' between your and my country. Unfortunately I was not able to download your songtapes coming from Paul Simon`s solo "Bleecker Street". When you had posted these songs I did not have for downloading these songs.

In the middle of the Dutch last night all links were already gone........

You asked whether I have some memories about this concert. On this moment I do not have an anser for you yet.

I just was so lucky to find an upload of Art Garfunkel`s part in this memoral evening. I hope this YT will wordk. It is the entire verssion from Art Garfunkel performing "Bridge Over Troubled Water"Unfortunately only audio. At that time we did not possess any other devices than e recording tape:
